Elijah's first road trip

We had no plans on Labor Day weekend, so we decided to take a quick (well, as quick as you can be with a newborn!!!) roadtrip to Burlington, NC to visit my brother David, his wife Mary and their two kids, Ashton and Abby. We had a great time! We left late on Friday afternoon and drove down with my Mom and Dad. We got there really late, so we didn't see Ashton and Abby until Saturday morning. They were really happy to see their new cousin! They were so good with him too.
On Sunday we decided to go to Jordan Lake, which is about 45 minutes or so from David and Mary's house. We had a good time and the weather was great! Elijah did really good and he even put his feet in the water, of course with daddy's help! After the lake, we went back to David and Mary's house and we had a cook-out with burgers and dogs (my personal favorite!!).
Overall we had a great time and we were a little upset the weekend ended so quickly.

Welcome to our Blog!!

We had major issues with our other blog, so we've started a new one! But I'm copying the posts from the other one onto this one. Enjoy!

Some good friends of ours have a family Blog and we thought it was a good idea, so we started our own!! I'm not sure how often I'll be able to update it, but we thought that this was a good way to keep all of our friends and family updated on what's going on with us.
The biggest news is that on August 1, 2007, we welcomed Elijah Christopher Paes into our family. He weighed in at 8 pounds and was 19 1/2 inches long. Although, I think he was a little longer than that!!! Elijah is seven weeks old now and I think we are finally getting used to being parents. He's changing every day and just when I think we've got some sort of routine down, he decides to change! Once I figure out how to post some pictures on here, I'll post them!
Chris has been wonderful during the past seven weeks. He has lots of leave built up, so he's been able to be home a lot during this time. This has done wonders for my sanity! But he has to go back to work on Monday, so it'll be just me and Elijah.
Elijah has been really busy these past few weeks. We went to North Carolina to visit my brother and his family and last weekend we went to upstate New York so Chris could run his second Adirondack Marathon (but his 10th Marathon overall!!). Chris jokes that Elijah has done more in six weeks that he did in 20 years! I'll post separte entries on those events though.
So welcome to our blog!!!!
